FAQ’s

Who can attend?
Anyone who has a currently valid TAGB licence, make sure you have it with you so it can be shown if asked for. You must be training with your TAGB Instructor regularly and have their permission to attend.

What is the Cost?
The Squad sessions costs £5 
 
 
What do I need?
Your valid TAGB licence, (please take it with you, we might need or ask to see it), loosely fitting clothes, trainers, full set of TAGB sparring equipment that is in good working order, A skipping rope and a tagb approved focus pads could also be useful if you have them, lots of water and the expectation to work hard.
 
 
What are the benefits?
The squad training sessions are supervised by national TAGB team coach Master Kenny Walton. They are however of benefit to all, at all levels. 
 
our physical fitness will improve, your technical ability will get sharper, you will learn new things, you’ll be given the opportunity to take your performance to a new level and you’ll meet some great people on the day.

Below you will find a list of the TAGB / BTC approved First Aid courses that have now been arranged for this year.
there could be other courses yet to be arranged so make sure you keep checking back for the lateste information. 

The courses are open to 2nd kup (Red belts) and above, and the youngest that candidates can attend is from 13 years of age.

Each course shall have 25 places on a First come first served basis, although if there is significantly more than 25 applications, then a second course tutor may be booked so that the course can run with a larger number. This is subject too numbers of applications. If there are not enough number of applicants, the couse will not run. There needs to be a minimum of 10 applicants to run a course.
 
Cost of the each course is £50 by cheque made payable to “TAGB”  Cheques must be brought on the day.
 
Applicants must apply by email.  You need to provide your full name, grade, TAGB ID number, TAGB/BTC license number and expirey date and a contact phone  number for us to contact you on for emergancy use only .

Introduction

This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any information that you give to us, through your Instructor, when you become a member of the TAGB.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected, and we will never release your personal details to any third party without your express consent. When you complete an application to join a TAGB club, certain personal information is collected from you. You can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

NB: TAGB authorised Instructors may implement separate and/or additional policies and procedures.

What information we will collect:

– Forename and Surname
– Date of Birth
– Photograph
– Current Address
– Contact telephone numbers
– Contact email address
– Gender
– Medical Conditions
– Next of Kin name and emergency contact details.

Why we need the information we gather

We require this information to administer your membership and to provide the products and services you have requested from us and provide you with an efficient service for the following reasons:

– Internal record keeping
– Sending membership fee notices to you
– Recording financial transaction to your membership fee account
– Contacting you with relevant club and Association correspondence
– Maintaining a record of any recognised competitions you may take part in
– Maintaining a record of your grade status and related grading examinations
– Confirming your grade to other Associations or International Bodies if they request confirmation of your grade for any competitions you have entered with them
– Sharing personal details with the British Taekwondo Council (The United Kingdom National Governing Body for Tae kwon-do) for membership and insurance purposes only.

The TAGB will retain your personal information on our membership database for the duration of your membership, and for a period of 36 months after your membership has expired. However, in the case of a minor (under 16 yrs) the information will be retained until they reach the age of 21 yrs.

We take your privacy seriously and all such information is held on secure servers. The TAGB complies with all applicable Data Protection Regulations. We may change and update this policy from time to time and will notify you accordingly.

This policy is effective from 20/05/2018

Notes:

1) Under GDPR your have the right to view all data we hold on you and request us to correct or amend if required. Access to this information can be obtained from your TAGB Instructor.
2) Under GDPR you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you think there is a problem in the way your data is being handled.

Guidelines for Destruction at Competitions


Items required: Board holder. 2 x Black Boards (B). 2 x White Boards (W)

Board Holder: Height to centre of board – 48 inches (1.22 metres)

The holder may be supported or not at the discretion of the senior referee (this must be consistent throughout the competition)

Stances: Hand destruction – as specified in the competition details.

The senior referee to specify if the competition is to stay in the same stance or be allowed to change stance (this must be consistent throughout the competition)

Foot destruction – as specified in the competition details

The senior referee to specify whether the standing foot should remain on the spot or whether to allow a slide (This must be consistent throughout the competition)

Round 1 2 x B + 1 x W        1 x B + 1 x W  
Round 2 2 x B 1 x B
Round 3 1 x B + 1 x W        2 x W
Round 4 2 x W 1 x W
 
If more than one competitor breaks – repeat with opposite Hand/Foot before moving on to the next round.
 
Focus: One no touch focus only allowed

Weighing: Resort to weighing competitors (to decide the winner) only if there is no clear winner after all the above rounds have been completed.
 
(an alternative to the weighing to decide an overall winner is to use the StrikeMate – each competitor through to the final round gets ONE strike – highest score wins)

All students taking Black Belt Gradings have the opportunity to purchase a 12” x 8” full colour group photo of their grading.

Priced at just £15.00, each photograph is mounted in a matt black strut frame and sealed in a plastic envelope.

Photographs can ONLY be ordered on the day of the grading and payment must only be made by cash or cheque on the day (sorry no cards).

The courses are certified by the BTC and are open to all BTC members. If the course is not it will be open to family members at a slightly higher cost of £5 per course. P

riority will be given to BTC members first.

Apply to the course organiser for availability on the course or courses you wish to attend.
