Introducing WGC TKD instructor
Tina Bhoobun

Over many years, I have dedicated myself to the art of Taekwondo. I trained at Stevenage TKD club twice a week. My training has given me valuable skills, and I have absorbed as much knowledge as possible.

I am a dedicated 3rd degree black belt and member of the Tae Kwon-do Association of Great Britain.

My martial arts journey began in 2016. I took my 7 year old son to his first class and was encouraged to join in with him; 8 years later, I am a 3rd Degree black belt and my son a 2nd degree Black belt.

I continue to train and have trained with some of the great Masters of TKD.
I also attend the British squad training sessions and have won medals in many competitions including the British, English, Midlands, Southeast and World Championships.

Since gaining my black belt, I have continued to develop my knowledge and skills, I am a qualified umpire and qualified referee.

When I successfully attained my instructor qualification, it was an honour to be able to officially share all that I had learnt with other students.
My teaching style emphasizes technical movement and focuses on fundamental principles. My approach, suits all ages, and has garnered praise from students and parents alike. My passion, combined with my teaching style, has helped students achieve their martial arts goals and build confidence.

As a female instructor, I am on a mission to empower others to take up self-defence, build confidence and most importantly enjoy the art! I train with both male and female partners of all sizes and strengths. I am not naïve; self-defence may not save me from being assaulted. But
Taekwondo has taught me awareness and potential life-saving combat skills. It has also empowered me to feel powerful and strong.

Maintaining health, strength and fitness is key for me. I am a Mental Health Nurse by background, which comes with its own challenges. My career as a Senior Service Lead in Mental Health helps me understand and support individuals.

Taekwondo has many proven benefits; for me personally, the greatest benefit is the physical confidence it has given me. Confidence that certainly helps me in my life as a mother and a professional.

I am now ready to commence the next chapter of my journey, and open my own club. Welwyn Garden City Taekwondo club.
I thank you for reading this and hope you will embark on this journey with me.
I very much look forward to meeting new people of all ages.
Come join me in my new class at Applecroft School on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. 6 free taster sessions are available.
