The BTC are going to run some online courses.
We were going to run them all as face to face but with the latest covid variant being prevalent and causing many cancellations to events we are running them online so people can still do the course at home if they were to catch covid.
Numbers able to attend each course shall be limited. This is to maintain the quality of the courses.
The three online courses are:
Equity in your coaching. Minimum age 15yrs.
Everyone should have access to Tae Kwon Do, regardless of gender, age, race, ability, faith or sexual orientation. This workshop will show you the best ways to make this a reality. Your tutor will give you practical advice on how to adapt your existing skills to make your sessions attractive to everyone.
*The definition of sports equity and why it is important.
*How to identify and deal with any barriers faced by participants.
*The appropriate language and terminology.
*Develop your existing skills and experience to make your sessions more accessible.
*How to become more equitable.
Basic safeguarding and protecting children course. Applicants must be 18yrs old.
Instructors or students who wish to attend this course or refresh their qualification or just improve their knowledge can attend. Any person who wishes to attend the course to train as the school welfare officer needs this course as the first qualification.
Information covered on the course:
*To help protect yourself and the young people you are instructing / coaching.
*Understanding and following good coaching practice.
*Learn about child abuse and how to handle situations if you have concerns.
When you have completed this course you can then do the next course the Time To Listen course which is required to be Club welfare officer.
Time to Listen course 18 yrs +
**This workshop can only be attended if you have attended a basic safeguarding course first, ie the one on the BTC instructors course, or the course provided online.
**Information of previous course and date must be provided when applying for the T.T.L course.
Information covered on the course:
*How a club welfare officer works with others to create a child centred environment.
*Explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment.
*Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice.
*Identify and recognise good coaching practices and the implications for your coaching.

Saturday 5th March
10.00 – 13.00 approx.

10.00 – 13.00 approx The cost for each course is £25 (If you attend 2 courses £45. For 3 £65) If you book and then cannot attend the online course your fee shall be credited toward any other BTC course booked at a later date.
