DESCRIPTION:\nBLACK BELT & DAN GRADING INFORMATION\nAll black stripe & Black belts wishing to grade must train on a regular basis and must be in possession of a current T.A.G.B. licence. He /\nShe must have held a T.A.G.B. licence continuously over the whole training period.\nAll black belts, including juniors, must attend at least one of the special T.A.G.B. Black Belt pre-grading training\nsessions every six months (licence books must be stamped) and all three immediately prior to the grading for which they are\napplying.\nThere is no requirement for any black belt who is under 16 years old to attend umpires’ or referees’ or instructors courses,\nor to officiate at any T.A.G.B. tournaments. However, the minimum training times for black belts aged under 16 years old are double those printed.\nIn addition the following requirements must be strictly adhered to –\nIF GRADING STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL 3 PRE GRADINGS\n1st kup to 1st Dan\nMinimum training period of 6 months prior to the last grading\n1st Dan to 2nd Dan\ni) Attend Umpires Course Part 1.\nii) Officiate or compete (in at least 2 events) at a minimum of one national T.A.G.B. tournament each year.\niii) Application forms must be signed by student (or parent if student is under 16 years of age ) and endorsed by their\nInstructor and Area Co-ordinator.\nNote: Minimum training time is 2 years.\n2nd Dan to 3rd Dan\ni) Attend Umpires Course Part 2.\nii) Officiate or compete (in at least 2 events) at a minimum of two T.A.G.B. tournaments each year.\n– at least one of which must be a national T.A.G.B. Tournament.\niii) As per iii) of 1st to 2nd Dan requirements.\nNote: Minimum training time is 3 years.\n3rd Dan to 4th Dan\ni) Attend Referees Course Parts 1 & 2. – Must have been a qualified umpire for at least 6 months.\nMust officiate at least one T.A.G.B. tournament before attending Part 2.\nii) As per ii) & iii) of 2nd to 3rd Dan requirements.\nNote: Minimum training time is 4 years.\n4th Dan to 5th Dan\ni) As per 3rd to 4th Dan.\nii) Must be a qualified Referee.\niii) A written application must be sent to the T.A.G.B. Committee, via the Area Co-ordinator, together with the relevant\ninstructors’ recommendations.\nNote: Minimum training time is 5 years.\n5th to 6th Dan and above\ni) As per items i) & ii) of 4th to 5th Dan\nii) Awarded at the discretion of the Black Belt Grading Examiners Panel.\nNote: Minimum training time is 6 years\n
